Background
The VFW National Home for Children is a neighborhood of custom homes and service buildings for children and families of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, along with children of active duty military personnel. With around 200 children and families, it needed a network that could handle the high user volume and provide security, too.
Client Requests
- Increase bandwidth to handle higher volume
- Improve security to protect children using network
Challenges
- Ancient phone system
- Old cabling infrastructure
- Limited budget for renovations
NuWave Solutions
We suggested Cisco Unified Communications to meet two challenges with one investment. Since Cisco routers support both data and voice, they provide the higher bandwidth the client wanted – and function as their phone system, too. Campus DSL now provides wireless Internet to every building on campus.
Client Satisfaction
“Most businesses are worried about who’s trying to get into their network. I have the opposite problem, but our new technology is helping me protect kids from going places on the network where they shouldn’t be.”
